Why aren't there any approach lights? At the time of the study and flight simulator tests, the possibility of installing approach lights was proposed which would facilitate the visual acquisition of the runway. Unfortunately this proposition for standard approach lights was technically impossible because the sea was too deep at this location. Nevertheless a study is underway on the feasibility of installing short approach lights on runway 22R using sequential lights (approximately 300 meters in length which appears to be physically possible). |
