GEOGRAPHY On the coast and in close proximity to the built-up areas of Nice to the North and East, the rest surrounded by sea, limiting the surface area. Due to the proximity of the sea and the river Var to the South there is the risk of bird hazard (day time bird control from SR to SS). 653 and 856ft peaks at 3,5nm from RWY 22 thresholds. Peaks up to 4200ft 9nm, NW of the field; peaks over 10000ft 29nm, N/NE. Runway direction was determined by local topography, not prevailing wind direction. |
